Finding FOCUS

Give me a minute. Trying to FOCUS.

Ever feel this way? As a creative person I have many-a-days where I just feel all over the place.

I’m currently in the process of reading Getting Things Done by David Allen.  In reading this book it sparked the idea to find out how other people focus.

I'll be sharing responses from goal-getters throughout the summer in hopes we all learn and establish new ways to tackle our to-do lists and see goals met.

Check your DMs and inbox over the next few weeks or reach out to me if you’d like to share how you find FOCUS.

I thought it would be fun to go into a little more detail and create new philoSophie’s from the responses I receive.

In the meantime, here’s how I currently find FOCUS. I will reevaluate at the end of summer and look forward to hearing from you.

How I find FOCUS?:

Find/ Keep the Fun in business: I’m constantly brainstorming and illustrating new ideas and product concepts. Now through August I’m working more days outside the studio than in to be inspired by new places and people.

Opportunities/Optimism: Entrepreneurship is tough.  It’s true that for every ‘yes’ you receive dozens of ‘nos’ It can really mess with your mind. I have to remind myself that I’m not philoSophie’s. It doesn’t define me.

Confidence: I am confident I do quality work and I’m good at my job.  When I’m feeling a lack in confidence I take a few days away from social media. I remind myself that the grass is always greener where you water it. Stay in your lane!

Deal with the Unexpected: Analyze it. Why didn’t it go as planned? Go through emotions. Mad, Sad … etc. Take the time you need. It’s good to get your emotions out… then make a list of why it’s for the best and what did I learn from it.

Simplify (workload, life, etc...):  To quote one of my favorite friends, Dorothy Green - “Yes, with enthusiasm. No without regret.”  I know what I want to accomplish this summer through year end and the only way to get through my goals is to be strategic in what I agree to in work/life.  Find balance and see results. #celebratewithSophies #bossbabes #inspirationiseverywhere
