A Boston Summer of Creativity, Connection & Friendship

A Boston Summer of Creativity, Connection & Friendship

This summer, I made a big (and exciting!) decision — to spend the season living and working in Boston, surrounded by cobblestone charm, waterfront views, and a whole new wave of inspiration. From June through early September, I’ll be calling the vibrant Seaport and historic Fort Point neighborhoods my creative home base as I dive into new ideas, products, and partnerships for both philoSophie's and Pawty Plates.

You might be wondering… why Boston?

Boston has always had a special place in my heart. It’s a city filled with energy, tradition, and stories — the kind of place that sparks imagination. With its blend of creative hubs, entrepreneurial spirit, and dog-friendly vibes, it felt like the perfect place to dream big and bring those dreams to life.

What This Means for You

Whether you’re a long-time fan of philoSophie's hand-illustrated gifts or recently discovered our tail-wagging Pawty Plates, here’s how this Boston adventure benefits you:

💡 New Inspiration = New Products
Being in a new environment always fuels my creativity. You can expect fresh artwork, fun new ornament designs (with a sprinkle of Boston flair!), and product launches inspired by local culture, coastal summer days, and spontaneous moments.

🤝 Local Collaborations & Holiday Prep
Boston is brimming with small businesses, boutiques, and pet lovers — and I’m already connecting with potential retail partners and gift shops to share exclusive items this fall and holiday season. Think: early access, custom collabs, and name-drops you won’t find anywhere else.

🐾 More Paw-ty Ideas Coming Your Way
Pawty Plates are getting some extra attention this summer, too! I’m testing out new packaging ideas, local events, and even a few limited-edition plate designs that celebrate the joy our pets bring to everyday life.

☀️ A Season of Heartfelt Creativity
At the heart of everything I do; whether it’s sketching a whimsical wedding mug or designing a plate that makes tails wag is connection. This summer gives me the time and space to reflect, reimagine, and refocus on bringing you thoughtful products that celebrate life’s moments, big and small.

If you're in the Boston area this summer — or just want to follow along from afar — stay tuned for updates on Instagram (@share_philoSophies + @pawtyplates), join the newsletter for exclusive perks, or just send a hello!

Thanks for being part of this journey.

With gratitude,
Joanna
